Obviously guns are bad, and shouldn’t be used, but the girl in the second pic is a lot older than the little baby in the first one and has probably made the decision herself to have her ears pierced. 

Have any of you had your ears pierced as a baby? Are you glad your parents made the decision, or would you have preferred to wait until you could make the decision yourself? 

Just pointing this out…in theory, if you had your baby’s ears pierced by a piercer, you would still need to restrain your crying infant.

Children who are old enough to consent to ear piercings and be excited are happy about gun piercings too.

So I’d say the real difference in this photo is not gun vs. needle, it’s being old enough to understand and want the piercing.

That makes a big difference.
